A panel of three judges denied TikTok’s petition to overturn a new law that requires its parent company, ByteDance, to sell the app to a non-Chinese company by Jan. 19 or face a ban in the United States.

TikTok has long denied allegations that it puts sensitive user data into the hands of the Chinese government.
