A former Olympian will not face trial after federal prosecutors acknowledged that the Trump administration’s claims of vandalism were false.

David Hearn, center, pleaded not guilty this month to a felony charge of vandalism. Prosecutors had accused him of ripping the Reflecting Pool’s lining.
